“A true leader has the confidence to stand alone, the courage to make tough decisions, and the compassion to listen to the needs of others. He does not set out to be a leader, but becomes one by the equality of his actions and the integrity of his intent.”

John Plumides began practicing law in August 1953 in Charlotte. From 1953-1955, he served in the United States Army during the Korean conflict. In 1956, he formed the Plumides Law Firm in Charlotte, which is known as Plumides, Romano & Johnson, PC today.
One of his proudest moments as an attorney occurred in April of 2003 when he was featured by the Mecklenburg County Bar as one of the “Heroes of Our Bar” and in that same year was recognized for 50 years of practice by the North Carolina Bar Association. During his career, he won numerous Court of Appeals cases, which changed both civil and criminal law in North Carolina, including one case that went to the United States Supreme Court.

Ted’s sharp sense of humor and witty jokes which were enjoyed by both colleagues and clients and will be missed.
Ted practiced law in Charlotte for 36 years, 25 as a Board Certified Specialist in Family Law. He joined Plumides, Romano & Johnson, PC in 2020 Of Counsel. Ted genuinely liked helping a clients (and a family) obtain just results. He served the NC and Mecklenburg County Bars in several leadership positions, including ethics and fee-dispute-related appointments.
Ted always remembered the advice Judge Resa Harris gave him, “if I always placed the client’s interest first and foremost, I would have more clients than I could say grace over. She was right.”
Attorney Clint Davis with the Plumides Law Firm has been a joy to work with throughout our ordeal of trying to get to the bottom of a pending charge from 2017. He has kept us updated during much research regarding this matter and we finally have our answers. Thank you…
In one-hour consultation to review my overall case and my Separation Agreement drafted by another attorney, Greg Plumides found three major flaws against me. I learned more in hour with Greg than three months with the other attorney and thousands of dollars wasted. Well, I immediately hired Greg instead -…
Michael and David are the best of the best. They changed the course and outcome of my case after switching from a different attorney. Judges and other attorneys know this team throughout Charlotte and their reputation is well earned. They never missed a detail, always looked out for my best…
